September 2016

Post date: Sep 5, 2016 5:43:17 PM

This month's newsletter, written by Patti Nicholson:

Acts 20:24a (NLT) is the 2016-2017 verse, which talks about doing the work

assigned to us by the Lord Jesus. Do you know what work it is that you are

to complete?

As a writer, have you discovered the work you need to write? Is it a memoir,

a romance, a fantasy, a textbook, or another genre? Is it fiction or nonfiction?

Or is it something more personal - perhaps a journal to be seen by only your

eyes?

Writing Prompt: As we begin our WWCWG 2016-2017 season, what are you

working on? Write about it. Or are you at a standstill and keep putting it off?

If so, our speaker for September may just have the tips and tricks to get you

writing again.

COMING UP: Join us as we welcome Jeff McRaven back to share with us. He

will speak about procrastination by covering the six most common reasons why

people procrastinate. He will also offer strategies for dealing with those issues.

FEEDBACK (CRITIQUE) OPPORTUNITY:

If you want to receive feedback on your work, come early (5:30 p.m.) to meet

with others. Bring 6-8 copies of your short piece (300 words or so) for the group

to read along as you share. You could bring what you've written in response to

the prompt above, or something else you're working on. It can be a portion of a

book chapter or a short article too.

See you at the September meeting!
