October 2017

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.

(Ecclesiastes 13:1-8)

This month's newsletter, written by Renee Liming:

As the fall season is upon us, let us reflect on the seasons of our lives. Life

doesn’t proceed in a linear fashion, rather it moves in cyclical rhythms or seasons.

Think about some of the seasons that you’ve gone through in relationships, finances,

education, careers, or spiritual growth. We can’t change the seasons, but we can find

God in every season, even the difficult ones. Realize that every season has a purpose.

We can learn from every experience that we go through. Autumn is a time where winds

of change blow through our lives. We might feel unsettled or uncertain. The ground

might be shifting and we might be cultivating it in preparation of the season to come.

We all cycle through seasons of change and transformation.

Writing Prompt: Reflect and write about the season you are currently in.

COMING UP: During the October meeting, we will be discussing the Cs and Qs -

Queries and Cover Letters, Contests, Critiques, and Clips. We will have a roundtable

discussion about what is necessary, what helps, and what doesn't. Come and join in

the discussion!

We look forward to seeing you at the October 10th meeting!
