This month's newsletter, written by Renee Liming:

If you've tried to purchase a Mother's Day card this year, you'll be hard

pressed to fine one for less than $6.99, unless you're shopping at the

Dollar Tree. I suggest making your own and include a memory about

your mom and how she influenced your life. Possibly, she was

someone to emulate. If your mother was anything like mine, she kept

us involved as kids, pushed us to be our best. She believed in the

value of education, volunteering, and giving back to community. She

sent us cards weekly in college.

Writing Prompt: I would encourage you to write your mother a heartfelt

note this Mother's Day and save yourself a few dollars on the card. You

could also share a card with any Mom who might not be getting a card.

COMING UP: During the May meeting, some of our Members will be

sharing a piece they've written. Join us as we share our writing and

maybe even bring a piece to share with us as well!

See you at the May 9th meeting!
