Proverbs 1:5 - "Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get

guidance."

This month's newsletter is written by Patti Nicholson:

A new year is upon us and that gives us opportunities to learn new things. As writers, we

search for ways we can experiment or improve our writing. And learning from others is a

wonderful way to do just that. This month, join us as we welcome Nathan Aaseng as he shares

with us how the publishing world used to work and how it works now. He will also provide tips for

becoming a better writer.

Writing Prompt: What topics do you like to write about? What are your favorite styles of

writing? How much time do you spend writing and how much of that time is for pleasure and how

much time is not necessarily for pleasure? Write about it.

COMING UP: During the January meeting, we welcome Nathan Aaseng as he shares about

how publishing has changed from when he first started writing until now. He will also explore the

difference between secular and religious writing. And he will share some tips on how to become

a more professional writer. Join us on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 7:00 PM.
